Choosing a Triathlon Wetsuit

Wearing a wetsuit during your triathlon will provide buoyancy, make you more streamlined in the water and keep you warm. If you are a weaker swimmer, these small things could give you the edge on race day.

You have to make sure you choose the right one, and get used to wearing it during your training. Here at Zoggs, we have three different types available for both men and women, launched in early 2015 – the Zoggs FX1, the Zoggs FX2 and the Zoggs FX3. Check out each one to see which one suits your swimming level.

In addition, here are some things to consider before you make your purchase.

Fit first
The most important thing when buying a wetsuit is fit. If it is the right size, you will get all the performance benefits that are designed to assist you. It will also be comfortable, which will itself help improve your performance.

A wetsuit should be snug, not tight. The Flex Technology of our new 2015 range of wetsuits means movement is made easy, reducing fatigue and helping to keep your stroke natural.

Each of our wetsuits is available in a range of sizes so you can find one that will fit perfectly. Check out the useful size guide to get the right one for you.

Maximising the benefits
A full suit has advantages over a sleeveless one. It provides greater buoyancy and will keep you warmer. The Flex Technology of our wetsuits means you don’t have to sacrifice arm movement to achieve these benefits.

Each of our different wetsuits provides different levels of flexibility, depending on your swimming level. Be realistic about your ability and you will get the suit that will help you realise your aims.

The Zoggs events team will be at the Swim Expo at Event City in Manchester from 20th to 22nd March so if you are in the area why not pop along and be fitted by one of our experts.
