About PCA

Founded in 2010 by Ali Stunt after her own experience of being diagnosed aged 41 with pancreatic cancer, Pancreatic Cancer Action is the only UK charity that specifically focusses on improving pancreatic cancer survival rates through early diagnosis in everything they do.

From raising awareness of the symptoms with the public and funding early diagnosis research, to providing diagnostic tools for healthcare professionals and free information for patients and their families. Their work has a direct impact on diagnosing people sooner.

Pancreatic cancer is the UK’s 5th biggest cause of cancer death, with almost 10,000 men and women being diagnosed each year. Sadly, 24 people will die each day from the disease, due to late diagnosis and lack of symptom awareness. Survival beyond 5 years is just 7% and only 1% of those diagnosed will survive 10 years or more.

Pancreatic Cancer Action has started to make a significant impact on the survival rates of pancreatic cancer, but there is still a long way to go. That is why we are delighted to be Pancreatic Cancer Action's official partner for their Swim For Survival Challenge!

Hopefully, our being on board as their partner means more awareness for a disease that desperately needs more attention.
