Zoggs Swim Diaries: Day 2 of the #TeamBetter Swim for Sport Relief
Day 2 of this epic swim challenge is almost complete, and although tired and ready for sleep, Zoggs' team members Ben Hornett and Claire Rowland took a few moments to tell us how they got on with their second day of swimming with #TeamBetter...
Not sure if a hearty fry up was on the list of recommended food supplements from our dietician - I do need to replace all the calories somehow!
4 miles today - Grove Belfast, Cockermouth, The Pools Carlisle, and finally Manchester Aquatic Centre. We had a great reception from everyone, including Michael McKillop (two time Olympic gold medalist) and Luke Greenbank (two time European gold medalist, and Rio hopeful) what can I say.... Now being supported by elite athletes! And of course all the GLL staff.
Shoulders are holding up so far, and in fact feel quite strong at times. 8 X 200's has been the routine today... No pb's sadly! 9 down 22 to go!
Ben
We've now ditched the Oyster card and boarding pass in favour of our very own tour bus....home for the next three nights and welcoming us back to England as we landed in Newcastle after a morning's dip in Belfast.
We were all suitably fed, watered and generally re-fuelled ready for our late night swim, the last of the day....rumour had it the GLL team in Manchester had Prosecco on ice waiting for us when we were done for this evening.....that certainly gave us something to swim a bit faster for!!!!
Now time to get our PJ's on for our 1st team sleepover on our Tour Bus...then off to Rugby to start our day tomorrow....
