Women's Swimwear - It's All About the Back!

You may not think it, but choosing a swimsuit with the right back can go a long way to ensuring you are supported and comfortable throughout your swims and achieve the best possible fit. With up to 30 different backs in the Zoggs women’s swimwear range, you are sure to find the perfect costume to cater to your swimming needs.

For the more competitive or frequent swimmer our sport swimwear range is recommended. This features a variety of backs which draw the straps away from the shoulder blades to ensure complete freedom of movement and eliminate chaffing during long swims, and are combined with an open back for greater flexibility in the arching of the back – perfect for tumble-turns!

Our leisure range offers a greater level of coverage in the back, usually featuring Scoopbacks and classic straps. However, don’t worry; you can still achieve fantastic freedom of movement with a bit of extra coverage from our leisure range. Higher backs are ideal for swimmers looking for bust support, but also for swimmers blessed with a bigger bust, our women’s swimwear range features a Clipback design which can help to give extra support for a more confident and comfortable swim.

We always recommend looking at the Zoggs Size Guide before deciding on which size to buy, but if you find that you are between sizes and unsure of which size to go for then the back of the costume can help you to decide which size you should be purchasing.

The more open the back of the costume, the more this allows for it to change shape to offer a better fit, so if the style you prefer has an open back such as an Actionback or Speedback then you can afford to go for the smaller of the two sizes you sit between.

If you are between sizes and prefer a style with a closed back such as a Scoopback or Classicback then we would recommend choosing the larger of the two sizes as the additional fabric means the swimsuit has less ability to alter shape. However, it is also important to consider how much support you require, as choosing a larger size could reduce the impact of bust support and tummy control.

For swimmers with a longer body length, choosing a swimsuit with a more open back is often the best option. If you are interested in a more closed back design and have a long body length then we would recommend going up a dress size to allow for this, as the closed back will not shape to your body as easily as an open back.

In fashion for 2015 it’s all been about the back, but in swimwear for some people it’s always been about the back! Be sure to consider how much support you require before deciding which back style is the right one for you, so you can look fantastic and feel supported in your Zoggs swimsuit.
