Transform Key Workers

Zoggs support Transform Key Workers with their wild swimming

A recent generous donation from Zoggs of swimming costumes and kit has enabled some of Transform’s Housing and Support Officer’s to improve their physical and mental well-being during down time from supporting homeless and vulnerable people.

The group of swimmers, led by Anna Menzies, meet every Sunday morning, usually at Ripley, and all say wild swimming has been invaluable for reducing stress levels and improving their general health so that they are better equipped to help others.

Anna said: “I started swimming outdoors last summer and immediately felt better for it. Life has been so stressful and to be out in nature, watching the world as you float past is so lovely. We have demanding jobs and it is important to be strong physically and mentally to be able to help both our clients and our colleagues. I really believe this has provided extra resilience. The health benefits of swimming in cold water include boosting your immune system which is obviously very important right now.

Fellow swimmer, Julie agreed, “I feel truly at peace when I get in the water. Nothing else makes me feel like that.” And Caroline who regularly joins the group went on to say “At first I was scared but that is part of the attraction. It’s addictive and liberating and it really does relieve stress.”

We’d like to thank Zoggs for supporting our key workers, who in turn support the most vulnerable in our local communities.
