Photochromic lens: Your Questions Answered

Swimming goggles play a big part in getting the most out of your swims! 

We've been designing and innovating swimming goggles since 1992 and want to ensure each and every swimmer finds the right goggles for them.

Photochromic lenses are our latest innovation and are great for every swimmer!

 

 


What is a photochromic lens? 

A photochromic lens reacts to UV rays and gets darker when light is brighter and becomes more clear when your surroundings get darker. 

Photochromic lenses are constantly adjusting to the light to ensure you have optimal visibility in your swim!

 

 


What conditions do photochromic lenses work best in?

Photochromic lenses are perfect for every condition. 

Due to the reactive nature photochromic lenses are perfect for every swim whether youre swimming as the sun rises or middle of the day, inside or outside.

Do I need photochromic lenses? 

If you are swimming regularly at sunrise or changable conditions or a mixture of indoors and outdoors the photochromic lens is best as you will always be able to see clearly.

How do I take care of photochromic lenses?

It's easy to take care of your goggles in 3 easy steps when removing 

1. Lift strap over head to release pressure

2. Carefully remove goggles from face

3. Rinse in clean water and store away from direct sunlight

For best results be sure to keep the anti-fog topped up with Ecofog and store the goggles in their case!

 

Are photochromic lenses only for swimming outside? 

No! Photochromic lenses can be used when you are swimming both inside and outside. They really are perfect for every condition!

 

What is the difference between a Polarized and Titanium photochromic lens? 

Both lenses react and adjust to UV rays 

Polarized Ultra Photochromic lenses 

  • Filter out blue light making it easier to see in bright conditions
  • Brightens with a copper tint 

Titanium Photochromic lenses

  • Reflect the glare from the water away from your eyes making is clearer to see on and under the water 
  • Slightly darker tint
