Zoggs Swim Diaries: Day 1 of the Sport Relief 2016 #TeamBetter Challenge

Day One of the Team Better Sport Relief Challenge is finally over. The day saw Zoggs' Ben and Claire swim five miles with Team Better at five different pools across the UK. They travelled by foot, train and plane and took a few moments out to tell us how they're feeling after day one...

First we hear from Ben:

Day 1, 5 miles done!

Aching shoulders, extremely tired and having lots of fun raising money for Sport Relief!

We have now completed mile swims in Finchley leisure centre, Greenwich Waterfront, Crystal Palace, London Fields Lido and finally at Avoniel in Belfast. Each one getting a bit more difficult, and taking a bit longer, and wearing out my shoulders a bit more. But what a team to be swimming with, #TeamBetter assembled by GLL, are a fantastic bunch of people, all with swimming backgrounds, wanting to raise money for a good cause....

I feel privileged to be taking this challenge on - bring on day two, and four more miles!

....and now from Claire...

It's been a long day.... an exhausting day... a cold day.... but one of the most fulfilling days I've ever had the pleasure to be a part of!

As I sit on the plane making our way to Belfast to swim our final mile of the day I know I should try and get some sleep...I need it...but I'm buzzing!

#TeamBetter (as we are known) has had some amazing support on our journey so far...from Olympians, Paralympians, GLL employees and synchro stars (Aquabatix) who have not only encouraged us on from the poolside, but some even swam a mile with us....

We've had hoots of support from cars passing us by as we pound the pavements walking from one pool to the next... Bring on tomorrow!
