How do you feel about the impending swim?
On the whole I feel positive. I'm looking forward to the whole experience including the training over the next year. I think it will become a very memorable

This is why we train!
During my working week, I had to go to Cowes on the Isle of Wight for a meeting. As I crossed the Solent on the Red Funnel ferry, the shear enormity of what I have taken on seemed to literally wash over me. At one point, I could see Ryde from one window, and the Hurst Narrows (if I squinted) out of the other.

Deborah Herridge is training to swim the English Channel in the summer of 2017 and shares her journey from 30 lengths in the pool to a 21 mile Channel Swim.
The English Channel is one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, and next year I hope to fulfil my ambition to swim 21 miles across it.

Day three saw our #TeamBetter swimmers smashing another huge set of swims today, with no less than five miles at five different pools under their belts. Joined by a mayor, the ASA, friends and colleagues, they battled their way through pain, exhaustion and their own state of mind, willed on by their supporters and the sense of comradery that has developed in these few short days.
With their enormous target of £12k so close they can almost reach out and touch it, the team have been spurred on through swim after swim, knowing that the money they raise is going to make a difference to vulnerable people both in the UK and overseas thanks

Day One of the Team Better Sport Relief Challenge is finally over. The day saw Zoggs' Ben and Claire swim five miles with Team Better at five different pools across the UK. They travelled by foot, train and plane and took a few moments out to tell us how they're feeling after day one...
