How to use a Kickboard

Looking at introducing some training aids into your swim sessions but not sure where to start?

Before using training aids be sure to check the intended use and make sure you are using them correctly so that you can get the most out of your session. 

Why use training aids when swimming?

Training aids are a great way to mix up your training sessions and focus on different aspects of your technique. 

Different swim equipment focuses on different parts of your technique as well as strengthening different parts of your body. A kickboard can be easily encorperated into any swim routine for any level.

  • Increases core stability
  • Enables you to focus on your kick technique
  • Strengthens your lower body and core

How to use a Kickboard?

  • Slip hands into the hand holes and rest your elbows on the top edge of the board
  • Keep your arms straight in front of you
  • You can place your face in the water and breate like normal or only keep your chin dipped in the water 

 

Top Tip

 

  • A kickboard can easily be used with many different training aids to enhance your swim session. If you want an extra challenge for your next session use both a Kickboard and Fins to improveyour kick technique and strength.
