Looking at introducing some training aids into your swim sessions but not sure where to start?
Before using training aids be sure to check the intended use and make sure you are using them correctly so that you can get the most out of your session.
Why use training aids when swimming?
Training aids are a great way to mix up your training sessions and focus on different aspects of your technique.
Different swim equipment focuses on different parts of your technique as well as strengthening different parts of your body.
Why use a Centre Snorkel?
- Enables you to focus on your kick and positioning in the water
- Helps to improve the balance of your stroke
- Familiarises you with a neutral head position
How to use a Centre Snorkel?
- Pull strap over your head and adjust strap to fit comfortably (the bracket should sit about one centimetre above your eyebrows)
- Place the mouthpiece Centre Line Snorkel in mouth
- Before you swim make sure the top of the snorkel sits above the water and runs down the centre of your face.
- When doing turns with a Centre Line Snorkel you can either continuously blow out through your mouth or hold your breath during the turn and blow hard once above water
- If you want an extra challenge for your next session use both a Centre Line Snorkel and a Kickboard to really focus on your kicking technique.
