Zoggs Baby Swimwear Guide

For many parents, buying baby swimwear can be a step into the unknown. To help, we've put together some top tips, covering everything you need to know when buying children’s swimwear this summer!

Size Up

Comfort is really important for babies; they can easily become agitated if they have limited experience of being in the water. You should be able to comfortably slip a finger under the straps of a swim suit – secure, but still allowing room for free movement. At Zoggs, you can find a huge range of sizes and styles of costumes and suits, so you will be able to find a fit that’s right for your child. Make sure you check out the full range of Zoggs’ boys’ and girls’ swimming Zoggs_2015_03_04_3622ow (1)costumes to find everything you need this summer, and our handy size guide will help you pick the best size for your little one!

Sun Protection

Making sure your baby is covered up when they’re at the pool or beach is really important to protect their sensitive skin. Yet not all clothing will give your child complete protection from the sun. UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) clothing contains a special dye that will repel the sun’s harmful rays. Our UPF swimsuits are designed to protect your child both in and out of the water.Always look for UPF sun protection swimwear, and remember that it is still really important to make sure they are wearing sun cream and stay in the shade as much as possible.

Nappies

A special swim nappy is a real essential when taking your baby swimming. Baby SwimwearThey are designed to fit over a disposable swim nappy and will keep everything locked in whilst your child is in the water. Our neoprene swim nappies are designed for maximum comfort and complete protection. They are also available in two different colours and a range of sizes, so you can pick the one that is perfect for your child. Help keep the poo out of pool!

Float Suits

Being safe at all times is an absolute priority when taking your baby into the water. A floatsuit will improve your child’s buoyancy, reducing the risks while they’re in the water and giving you enhanced peace of mind. You can find floatsuits for all ages at Zoggs. Many have removable floats, so you can give your child the level of buoyancy that’s right for their ability and confidence level, helping them develop their swimming from a young age.

Our Swimfree floatsuit has also been shortlisted in the Best Baby Gear Awards from Mumii, with its unique design featuring two air chambers which allow you36-009_24 to adjust your child’s buoyancy and achieve the perfect position in the water. You can even gradually reduce buoyancy as your child’s swimming ability develops without them even noticing! Great for helping them on their journey to becoming an independent swimmer!

Other Floatation Aids

As well as floatsuits, you can also find brilliant floatation aids that will help your child develop into a strong and confident swimmer. A trainer seat is perfect for little ones, as it helps them to float freely and have fun in the water.
