Registrations are now open for Swimathon 2019 which takes place from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st March. There is a whopping 50% discount available (until 11:59pm on the 27th November) on all challenges with places starting from as little as £7!
Swimathon is suitable for everyone regardless of age and ability due to the range of challenges on offer - from the 400m swim to the triple 5k. What's more by participating in Swimathon in 2019, you'll be raising money for two causes - Marie Curie and Cancer Research UK.
Individual challenges include the 400m swim which began this year. If you haven't swum for a while, this challenge is for you. It's a great way to remind yourself how much you love swimming and the equivalent of 16 laps of a 25m pool. The 1.5k Challenge is ideal for novice swimmers or those of you who prefer to push up speeds on shorter distances. This challenge is 60 lengths of a 25m pool.
If you're looking to push yourself that bit further, the 2.5k Challenge consists of 100 lengths of a 25m pool. The ultimate Swimathon challenge is of course the 5k Challenge which is by far the most popular. To complete this challenge you'll need to be dedicated and committed with a good training programme. Your efforts will be rewarded with a medal too.
New for 2019 is the Triple 5k Challenge which involves swimming the 5k three times in different sessions. This is ideal for swimmers who train regularly and are confident of taking on the longer distances. Team challenges include the 1.5k or 5k relays which you can do with your friends or family.
