Zoggs is the official swimming partner of Swimathon, the world's largest annual fundraising swim, for the fifth consecutive year. Swimathon was originally founded as a pilot event to encourage Londoners to take up a 5k swimming challenge. Today Swimathon is a national event which, over the past 30 years, has raised a staggering £48 million for charity.
If you participate in Swimathon 2018, you can help raise money for two causes close to the nation's heart - Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie. Swimathon takes place from the 27th to 29th April at 600 pools all over the country with challenges ranging from 400 metres up to 5k.
If you haven't swum for a while, the 400m challenge is a great starting point as it comprises of 16 laps in a 25 metre pool. For novice swimmers wanting to push those speeds, the 1.5k is a good option (60 lengths) with the 2.5k (100 lengths) and 5k (200 lengths) ideal for those of you wanting to achieve the ultimate challenge. You can pick distances of 400m, 1.5k, 2.5k or 5k as an individual or if you prefer, you can opt for a 1.5k or 5k team challenge (2-5 people).
If you don't fancy taking on your challenge over the Swimathon weekend, why not sign up for My Swimathon (April 20th to May 6th 2018)? You can swim one of the set challenges (individual 400m, 1.5k, 2.5k, 5k or the team 1.5k or 5k) or set your own distance.
